Illinois Concealed Carry Class

Overview

The Illinois Concealed Carry Class (CCL) is a 16 hour course taught by an Illinois State Certified Instructor and covers all of the requirements dictated by the State. After passing this class, students will receive the certificate they need when applying for their CCL.​

While this is a concealed carry class, we place heavy emphasis on situational awareness and conflict avoidance. 

​​

This class requires students to pass a shooting qualification.

Topics Covered

Over the 16 hours, we will cover:​​

  • Situational Awareness

  • ​Personal Protection

  • Handgun Basics

    • Please note, this section does not replace a beginner handgun course. We cover types of handguns, how they function, and how to shoot them. While it is not required, we recommend having some experience ​handling firearms.

  • Holster Draws

  • Dangerous Encounters

  • Violent Situation Aftermath

  • Concealed Carry Law

    • In this section we discuss Illinois and Federal laws that pertain to concealed carry, prohibited areas, and best practices to follow when carry a firearm.​​​

  • Please note, it is recommended that students have some firearm knowledge before taking the CCL Classes.

  • Above Biometrics will be available to assist with the application process and provide finger printing.

    • Application assistance and fingerprinting are optional services.

    • If you choose to utilize Above Biometrics' services there will be a fee upwards of $105.​
